Title: MCI 9 Clearance light wiring?
Post by: grantgoold on June 21, 2009, 05:14:42 PM
Anybody remember the route used for clearance lights on the 9. I am wondering if the wires run in the curve portion, along the middle rib or in the wall? I have not removed the ceiling and do not want to to fix a short in a clearance light. I may have to route a new wire and wanted to get some ideas. I know that the wires are in a series and so I should be able to isolate the link that may be bad.

Anybody ever had a short caused by one of the wires in a clearance light and needed to replace that section? Can you tie a new wire and then pull the old one through?

Looking for options.

Thanks

Grant

Yes when I bought my bus the previous owner had screwed an upper cabinet over the first window on the pass side.
One of the screws holding that cabinet up when through the wire for the center marker light.
The symptoms where the same as you posted in the other thread.

The wires went up the chase right behind the driver's window, split to the front and across the ceiling right behind where the Fiberglas meets the aluminum, then down both sides just above the windows.
The rear markers come out the rear junction box up through the blower compartment into the cap.
Best I can remember.
Good luck
