Title: I hadn't seen this saying before...
Post by: Hartley on June 17, 2009, 01:21:16 PM
Measure it with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with a torch, beat to fit, paint to match, inspect it with a microscope.

Now that's more like it...

That's sofa king cool!

I hadn't seen this additional saying before either, until recently. Apparently it's used to get around Disney censors on Disney owned web sites. Say it rapidly to understand what it means.

I've heard a number of variations on that theme; also, along similar lines, you can buy merchandise here advertising an (I think) imaginary brewery based in the county of Norfolk, whose slogan was 'Norfolk and Good'. On the merchandise (and in a local song of the same name) this phrase is of course shortend to 'Norfolk 'n Good'.

Even better, but more obsure, is the name of a boat that I've sailed against; the class of boat I sail was designed by a character called Uffa Fox (http://www.uffafox.com/ (http://www.uffafox.com/)), and the boat in question was called 'Uffa Fox's Ache'

Somewhere I have seen a photo of a truck from a furniture store called "Sofa King".  Painted in big letters on the side was the slogan "Our prices are Sofa King Low!"
