I was feeling a tad bit overwhelmed about converting my bus when I stumbled across a post on this or WOBN site about overcoming bus conversion related depression. The long and short of several pages of aggregated advise was "Take 'er out for a spin".
Not one to argue with smarter and cooler heads, I packed some stuff in my aluminum tent. I figured a drive to burn off that stagnate fuel would be a good idea. A couple days later I found myself in RV Mecca. It's surprising how a 'tank' of fuel will take you. LoL
Four days on the road and three days of shopping did wonders for my doldrums. Now I have a bus full of new puzzles to figure out. I also learned NOT to trust what my GPS when it comes to bus navigable roads. LoL And I thought roads in Alaska were bad!
MattC,
I can relate. I got my bus this past April. I picked it up in Idaho. This was the longest vehicle I'd ever purchased and my first real lesson lasted about 3,000 miles. Idaho to New Jersey via Montana. I only got a ten minute test drive before closing the deal but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express! I was a bit nervous at first but I got more confident by the hour. Confident about driving it and converting it as we discussed its future on our journey home (I took my wife & three kids with me). We took a week to get home . We stopped by Yellowstone but it was closed - they open end of April weather permitting. We also stopped at Mount Rushmore - worth the stop!
Point is this, by the time we got home I wanted to be a full-timer! I only wish I got "the bug" years ago.
Once "bitten", never the same!

Look who's talking! ::)
I was starting to think the only reason I bought a bus was to work on it!!! I got to do a little cruise in it and now I'm back working on it but with a smile again. I hate to admit it but I have more miles on the bus this year than I do on my bikes! I may have to trade my leathers in for whatever a busnut would wear!! :D (probably something greasy and grimy also :D) Later
