Title: How much trouble to move air brake knob?
Post by: Danny on June 11, 2009, 10:11:52 AM
I would like to move my air brake release knob to a new location due to putting in a new driver's seat.  How much trouble is it to move this knob?

Thanks,
Danny

Danny, it is not hard at all.  I moved mine to the left hand side of the driver's seat when I installed the new shifter tower.  I moved one hose at a time so I would not lose track of what hose connected to what port.  I used all new DOT air line (1/4") and new connectors (don't know what the name of the little piece of brass is).  Just make sure to use a marker and mark everything up well before starting so you KNOW where all the hoses are supposed to attach.  The worst part is working in the dirty spare tire compartment!  Go for it!

See what Brian said.

Protect the new lines from rubbing. Add some covering against hard edges and tie wrap them a lot to hold them still.

happy coaching!
