I recently obtained a Vanner Equalizer that I took out of a late model Prevost Band bus.
The bus had an engine fire and a bunch of stuff got scorched, most of it was trash except in the passenger side front corner of the engine room. That's where the Vanner was living at the time of the fire. It looks to be in good shape, with some smoke damage and a bit of minor plastic melted here and there, although the rubber mounting feet and all the wires were in good shape in that area.
Now to my question....
How do you test a Vanner Equalizer to see if it's working? I have a 12VDC system in my PD4103, but I could temporarily redo the system to be a stationary 24VDC system by unhooking all the house stuff and the battery cables to the inverter, then setting it up as a 24VDC battery.
I'm interested in selling this thing, and I believe it's one of the newer larger type Vanners, Although I'm not totally certain of that, I haven't looked at it for awhile. I would just like to know that it works because I hate it when I sell something and it's DOA from not being tested.

PM how much you want. Include shipping please.
If I can afford it you can just ship it up here. If it works the check is in the mail bud :)

The Vanner website gives a very simple method the check the unit.
If you have a 24 volt battery charger available you can hook it up and check for 12 volts on the 12-v tap.
I have an old solar (big) roll around booster/charger that has a 24 volt output switch,
Maybe you can find one somewhere..
Dallas,
Try your 24 power supply, it might do it! If not send it here and I'll test it for you. If it's good I'll send you a check for it minus the testing fee? (How much is the testing fee, you ask? How much is the Vanner I ask!? LOL!) ;D
;D BK ;D
Thanks all,
I'll go down to the bus today and see what model the Vanner is. And thanks, Bryce for the 24V power supply idea... mine puts out up to 35 amps, so I should get some idea if it works or not. I had forgotten I had that power supply until just a few days ago. It's operating a set of surround sound speakers right now.

I heard that happens when you get to be your age ;D ;D
I went to the vanner website and you have to be a dealer to get info. I have a used vanner I would like to check out Jerry
I found the test procedure readily last time I looked. I'll see if I can find it- I know I copied it, but I have been through two computers since then.
no need, I found the information, and dealt with the little bugger.
Thank's all!
