My 6v92 pretty much is finished. In Orlando, Fl right now. The bus is parked at a church right now for as long as we need it to. But basically we need a new engine, in good condition. Do any of you guys know anything that is available? Thanks!!

good to hear from you sorry about your misfortune. Can't help you. I know of a rebuilt 8V71 but it's up in southern Ontario.

A friend of mine has a 8-71 that he recently took out to do an re-power to a 8-92. The 71 ran great when he removed it. I can pass this on to him if you like OR he may even see it. We are located here in Lakeland Florida OR another friend of mine who owns a bus repair shop has engines of all types, even good running 60 series for sale and has the means to replace it for you. His shop also is located in Lakeland Florida.

Several engines for sale on the BNO board,Nick at Nimco will be a good source for used 2 stroke engines as far as the 60 series conversion in your MCI better have deep pockets that is a major project. If you want a 4 stroke engine check into one of the smaller size Cummins
good luck
ILYA,sorry your motor went south(orlando) ;),wha happened?
Hang in there
Here is a engine and tranny option that you might want to look at. Ebay 180361508413
FWIW Iminacess go back with your 6v92 it is going to cost a lot less even than a 8v71 replacement.A 8v71 will require some fabrication work being it is about 10 inches longer than the 6v92
good luck
Just overhaul your 6V-92TA. There are alot still in service and they are good reliable engines. Any other engine swap will take alot of time and more importantly extra money. You'll like the engine when it is fresh again. Good Luck, TomC
Well then, let me also add that my friend has a very good (older) not in age detroit rebuilder at his shop that has done some very good work if you choose to go that route!

I actually ran across a DDEC III 6V92 in a gillig for $750 but it's up here near Mpls. So, my question is, is your current motor an electronic version or a mechanical 2 stroke?
I think shipping would probably be in the $500 range to orlando.
The motor was in really good shape and appeared to have been rebuilt at some point.
Let me know if you want me to get you a number..
