Title: Libby is getting a new kitchen in the bus
Post by: cody on May 25, 2009, 11:31:58 AM
Libby wandered out and before I could stop her she stumbled upon a stash of wood that I had hidden away for a rainy day project, as she came back into the yard I saw either a look of gleam in her eyes or maybe it was a reflection of doom for me but either way I knew i was in trouble. She had found a pile of old rosewood that she figured would make some great cabinets, with a little gentle pursuasion and not a little whining I convinced her that if she wanted new cabinets rosewood wasn't the way to go but rope mahogany would probably do the job too so she is getting all new cabinets, so far I've whacked together the drawer boxes for her new kitchen, I'm throwing in a pic of one of them with a coat of sanding sealer waiting to dry enough to dust and put some finish on.  Hopefully the size is ok, I keep fiddling with sizing and can never seem to get it right.

Not much going on up here at all lol, not sure about lower michigan but in upper michigan we're always looking for blood donors for our poor staving mosquito squadrons, poor things are getting so weak that I've seen them walking along the side of the road and sitting in lines outside the blood bank with little cups begging for donations.  But I do have a coffee pot that is full most of the time lol.

To bad you're not using the Rosewood-probably my most favorite wood for both hardness and beauty. Good Luck, TomC

Tom, I may still use it for the faceframes, she is sure set on me using it, I kinda had a dining room set in mind but i guess this is a good cause too, rosewood is one of my favorites to work with too.

Cody, I just picked up 15 teak boards, 2 1/2 to 3 feet long, 5 inches wide and 5/8's inch thick.  $33.00.  Did I steal them or what?

Yep jack, you stole them lol.  One other motorhome we have is a Revcon, the interior was all solid teak so when i redid it I used teak again, it's nice to work with and great colors, especially the heart wood.

I don't think so. When we leave Florida we are going up through Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky on our way to Illinois to vist family. From Central Illinois to Elkhart and then to Michigan. From Michigan over to Cleveland and then through the Visrginias, Carolinas and Georgia, before returning to Florida mid November.  Jack
