Greetings,all:
We have been more or less incommunicado for the last week and a half while on a little adventure. We travelled about 2000 miles in Papabus in 12 days, renewing friendships and making new ones.
We attended the BC BusNuts Rally at Invermere,BC on the May 18 long weekend, and met truly a host of great busnuts!....JC and his co-host put on an excellent rally; those BC nuts do know how to have fun.
I am sorry I missed JC's coach; the YouTube video was a super sample.
Nary a problem plagued our 37 year old POFS (inside joke) 'RV'; only a leaking valve stem, a nonfunctional speedometer( it failed as we left our home Wednesday night...go figure), and a small oil leak from the DD (Oil leak??!?...no kiddin'!!..!!). A bad taillight bulb in the toad lighting delayed our trip by about 1 hour, but otherwise things went as planned.
We averaged better than 8.5 miles per Canadian gallon at 110-115km/h (that's 68-72 miles per hour) which going through a couple of relatively small mountain passes, and an expanse of bald prairie.
The old girl didn't use any oil either....I thought it was low at one point and added 1 gallon, but it promptly threw it all over the toad.
My air cylinder/toad brake system works flawlessly....got a few good comments about it too.
We are at home again relaxing a bit before out next 'rally' which happens this coming weekend at an RV park less than 2 miles from here. Hopefully we'll meet a few more nuts.
Gonna do a bit more thinking about some airhorns and installing them on my coach...there was a discussion on the board a while back about them, and the subject came up at the rally too....
Bye for now.
Mark
Mark,
Glad to hear you had a good trip. Looking forward to Bemidji in July.
BTW, Devin and Amy had a baby yesterday. Born in the back of the bus! How cool is that.

Arrrrrggghhhh, and they didn't let any of us know? not fair! All of the kids born around here need to be celebrated!

Fantastic!
We hope Amy and the new busnut are doing well.
Look forward to seeing them and you in July!
Best regards.
Mark and Donna
Maybe I shouldn't have spilled the news here, but he posted it on Facebook this morning, so I'll plead innocent. I'm really happy for them and can't wait for the July gathering at their place. It's going to be a good time.
Glad you had a good trip. How is the finish on the toad? All the Best, M&C
Congratulations, Devin and Amy.
God bless the new little one.
John
The finish is similar to a spotted toad....I heard they were once an endangered species, until the 2 stroke owners started dragging them around behind their coach...lol.
Nothing a good wash job won't fix...and it is definitely a rust preventative.

Mark, nice to hear you had a great trip, we both enjoyed you and Donna's company at the rally. I found out one thing, those bus people know how to eat and BS. I can't wait to go to the next one, I'd even venture to the bald prairie for the fun and food.
A little warning about the air horns, my brother works on the boats (big ones) and he brought home a cool looking air horn, a little big but when is big to big??. I plumbed it in and needed a 3/4 inch air line for supply. When I tested it the sound was impressive, the neighbors cows stopped milking and the guy down the road complained about losing egg production. The big problem was on the road test, one large blast and it dumped the air locking the brakes and causing a commotion on the road to town. I had to put it in fast idle to build the air before getting out of the way. There must be a way to calculate the volume of air used vs the amount of air produced by the compressor. So just be careful when you choose the horn unless you want to give short toots. I have some truck trumpets kicking around here if you need them.. Keep smiling and hugs to Donna. Fraser
Glad you had a safe trip home, it was nice meeting you and Donna at the rally. That was along way to drive for a rally we are glad you enjoyed yourselves.
