I added all this stuff on my roof this weekend now I find myself sitting in the garage with a beer and looking at it. Whats up with that?
Do I need help John
Na it's a good looking bus. :)
Busy, weren't you?
Looks like it needs a road trip now.
Da Bus is looking more comfortable everyday Jr. Did someone say "Beer"? M&C ;D
Not hooked up yet but up there and bolted down.

I'm looking at this thinking "nicely done, and well thought out too." The front A/C unit is pretty far forward, which follows the consensus board opinions about cooling the driver area. The two dark colored vent hoods (Fantastics?) looked to be mounted directly behind the A/C shrouds. At 65 mph, I would expect the shrouds to cause a decent low pressure area behind them, causing the vents to naturally suck air from inside the coach.
I think your road trip needs to be somewhere south and hot.
I removed front escape hatch for the front ac unit. The fantastic fans are over to the right of ac unit. I didn't want to cut center rib so I placed just to the side of it. The white fan is a Maxx Air. The back AC unit was a freebee. I had to buy a shroud. I plan one more fantastic fan in bedroom. I did leave the back escape hatch.

If it worries you, I can provide a list of low bridges which can clean it all back off for you . . .
Man that looks good. Congrats.
God bless,

John, we have two of the 'smoke' collored vents on the roof of our S&S. We purchased covers for them when we got it.
We are able to keep both open when parked for ventilation and to keep the heat down in the summer. Have never gotten so much as a drop of water inside...and we get some pretty wicked storms. In fact it was at the Outer Banks, NC for a year and even had a hurricane brush by. No problems.

PS...nice coach buddy!
Looks very good! I'm interested in the front A/C unit. You said you took the front escape hatch. I would like to do the same I think. Did you leave the exsisting frame or how did you go about that? If so what did you do fro framing sheeting etc as teh escape hatch hole is bigger that the A/C.

Grant,
I am not the guy that you asked the question too ;D, but I can tell you what we did. We used that hatch to put our front AC on. We just went onto the roof first, removed the hatch (left the frame), and then riveted a new panel over the hole (making sure that it was waterproof). After that we simply cut out the right size out of the new panel. It seemed to work well. We did add extra reinforcement around the frame to make sure that it was strong enough.

I removed the hatch. I then drilled out the hatch seal frame and removed. There was a lip that was left I used a cut off wheel and removed this lip. I then framed with 1" 1/2 box 14"X14". I put a square sheet over the whole thing just bigger than the hatch.I rivited and sealed from the top. Then I cut my 14X14 hole back out. This worked well and the AC almost covers it. I have to say that if I had to look at it everyday I may have made my patch oval. But it is on the roof and I don't plan on spending to much time up there.

well it sure looks good John, job well done. I'm debating on doing the same or maybe even put up in front of teh hatch. MIght look stupid though, being that far forward.
