Post by: cody on May 04, 2009, 03:43:26 AM
Today we head out on another great adventure for a couple of days, a looting and pillaging trip to Bontragers and other great spots in elkhart and the surrounding area, for those that feel I should have my head examined I will be stopping at my neurologists for a checkup lol, I'm even taking the laptop in case I run into wifi along the way lol.  And awayyyyyyyyyyyyyy we go lol.

It sure seems to me that Bontragers is almost as addictive as a bus?

LoL

Cody,
Enjoy Bontrager's, but get all the "Deals", we plan to be there around the first of July.  It looks like we will be in Michigan (Upper & Lower) this summer, probably most of July, maybe a little of August.  Email me your phone number and I will let you know when I have more specific dates.  Jack

We're home lol, got a bunch of cool stuff, no idea how to hook it up or use any of it but we got it lol. Got a magnum 2812 inverter, it's 2800 watts continuous and 3900 surge, got a charger built into it, need to track down the remote panel tho, also got a back up camera with a bunch of stuff, it'll use 4 cameras, I'm thinking the back up camera, a right side camera (got that one too), left side camera and maybe a shower cam lol.  Got a couple of new tanks, a grey water one and a black water one, even got a remote start for my generator, a bunch of cool stuff.

Wow, got behind on a couple of threads and look what happens.  We are in Goshen for a couple of rallies and will be going to Bontragers tomorrow.

Went to the RV museum in Elkhart today -- great fun.  Lots of very old motorhomes and trailers.

Wish we could have crossed paths.

Jim

Cody,

How are the pickings in Elkhart, I would think the warehouses have plenty of new RV stuff? We plan on being in the area in June or July.

Presents? we get presents? cool lol. I just found out another cool thing about my loot last night, I downloaded a little of the information on my inverter and it's pure sine wave, not modified like I thought.  I'm kinda tickled to now have a 2800 watt inverter and it's pure sine wave, I'm all goosebumpy now lol. As usual I poked thru all the piles and saw goodies that I couldn't get.  One of the things that may be a good deal is a used generator at bontragers, it is a guardian 6500 watt gasser in the quiet box, the guy said they would take a grand for it. I thought that was a decent deal but the money pile was way too low by then for me.  We did most of our search and destroy mission at trinas at RV Surplus and they do got a lot of cool stuff for not a lot of money but as always a person has to check things over closely, they have a few satalitte domes, both wineguard and trac dome for 300 but trina said she didn't know if they had all the parts or anything about them, they got a lot of new back up cameras for 50 bucks, lots of 5 inch and 7 inch back up monitors for 50 bucks, even a bunch of boxed, never opened ones for 150 bucks or 250 depending on the goodies included. Monitors are the regular CRT kind or the LCD kind depending on model, I got a nice set with the side camera for the right side too.  Awnings of all kinds and sizes for 450, I tryed to figure out how to tie a 22 ft beauty onto the roof of the truck but finally didn't take it.  Bontragers has a 2000 watt trace inverter for 450 and as usual both places have an abundance of new windows for 20 to 40 bucks each, piles of tanks, I found a new grey water tank and a new black water tank that will do a great job for me, both are 75 gallon tanks, I also got a 100 gallon water tank, I filled the back of the truck and wished I had a trailer lol.  I also got a wireless remote starter for my honda generator, she is selling the honda 3000 inverter generators for around 1600, thats a good deal but not a great deal, I priced them out at around 2000 at most places.  Trina has a bunch of the 1000, 2000, and 3000 watt hondas.  I'm already planning our next pillaging run and wishing i was related to donald trump or slow rider lol.

Interesting choice of examples Cody.  If you had Donald's money you could just buy the whole place and take as long as you like to sort through it.  If you had my money you would have to stay home and never have to worry about it. :)
