Does anyone have a part number for a 1974 gmc buffalo bus? I was told it is a 1710 series. Is there another number that goes with that. I heard maybe 528 or 6__ ? We are on the road, and have one going bad, called a truck shop and they said they have two of the 1710s, a 6 something number. Can someone please get back to me? Thanks

Thanks Lin, thing is, we are traveling, work out of the bus on the road, so, we need to find a fix asap. We are headed to a TA now, so we will see if it is the right one. We are told that it is the same one in a lot of trucks.
"U" joint kit for the GMC 4905 is part number 2366108 a later GMC number 695232.
This above part number crosses over to a MCI number 14F-1-23 to a later MCI number
14F-1-23AM.
Kits are not that costly around $25.00 to $30.00 each
Muncie and Mohawk list them if Luke does not have them in stock.

Note! Be very careful do not drive the coach very fast or very far with a bad "U"joint or joints when the "U" joints break this will cause the drive shaft to whip around doing a lot of damage to the drive line parts and or the transmission. :'(
Get it repaired ASAP and keep the "U" joints greased. ::)

Thanks yall. We had a guy look at it, and he said it does have some play in it, but not really bad. We are told truck pro has them. There is one in Nashville, so we will be looking there on Monday.

The simplest is to remove the Ujoint and take it with you to match it at the supply house. Should be a standard truck type Ujoint. Good Luck, TomC
Thanks to all for your help. We found someone to do the work, and we found it at Truck Enterprise in Nashville, Pro Truck also had it. It was a 1710,4 bolt, pretty standard. We have had some bad luck lately. The same day, the gen went out. Took it to the same shop, and found out the sending unit went out. Fixed us right up tho, no hassles.
