Title: Anyone mount their inverter inside the coach?
Post by: belfert on April 17, 2009, 08:18:07 AM
I currently have my inverter mounted in my luggage bays, but it is pretty far from the batteries.  I have 4/0 cable, but even so I probably get voltage drop.

Do any of you folks mount your inverter in the living space?  My Prosine 3000 can be somewhat noisy when the fans kick in, but I would like to find a way to move it upstairs without annoying everyone with the noise.  Too much soundproofing I think would hurt the inverter's need for ventilation.

I suppose another option would to install an electrical enclosure near the engine where the bathroom tank used to be.

I know one person that had his inverter installed inside a closet. The noise is not too bad, but you can hear it.  My concern is adequate cooling air getting to it.  Jack

I had my 3000 mounted in the closet, I now have a new 5000 in the same place and like it there, no problems.>>>Dan
