I am looking at an Eagle 7 which has the 102" Width which is nice but I read that perhaps the windshields are impossible to replace if needed. Is that a legitimate concern? Any other issues specific to these old Trailways? This one was a desert bus so I'm hoping no rust issues.
Cheers, Paul.
There should be no problems replacing the windshields as the front of the bus is only 96 in. The 7 is a good choice if in good shape. At that age if it has been in the north I would look for lots of rust. In today's market I would only be looking for 102 wide buses. Down the line it will have much better resale than any 93 in .
With the price of converted units down so much you can buy a bus allready converted for lots less than you can convert one. I know all the reasons that you can give for wanting to convert and everyone is sure that they will save money. Don't believe it, you can't build for what you can buy one for.

Jack is right on! Buy one converted, even if you don't like colors etc. all the necessary components would be there. The 7's are pretty rare, you would like the 102, ours is 96 and the wife would like the extra 6". I don't really care one way or the other as we'll keep ours for life!

Paul, if the 07 is origanal it is 102 inches wide from bumper to bumper and has bigger windshields that are not made any longer. Some have been redone with the 96 inch front end.I have a friends 07 at my place now and he kept the 102 inches wide but redone the breast plate to use model 05 and 10 windshields.Van on the Eagles board posted some photos of the bus. They are a very nice bus only 45 were made and they are all still being used as they were stored for years because of the law governing 102 wide in the 60'still the 80's.If you like I can direct you to photos of model 07 with the 96 inch front or the 102 inch front end but start with http://eaglesinternational.net both are there. FWIW they make a great side entry coach with the high foors I have 3 friends that have middle side entry 07 eagles and you will find they are a very low mileage coaches for their age Trailways never got to use them much. good luck
Paul, I would be interested in the 07 if it is original and you decide not to buy , I can always use one more Eagle lol thanks
I think Clifford is starting an Eagle Museum! ;) Another bird for his stable and he knows his stuff! Does the boss know?
