Title: HT 740 Automatic Transmission
Post by: Mark Scott on March 14, 2009, 09:57:42 AM
I was unable to find the fluid capacity of automatic transmission fluid in the maintenance manual. The Allison website specs 7.5 gallons with a 7" oil pan. There are options for a 6" and a 4.5" pan, depending on ground clearance. Does anyone know for sure? My application is a MCI 102A3 8V92, HT-740 Tranny. Thanks in advance for your help. Mark

7   "     "   35  "
8   "     "   37  "    plus the oil filter capacity for the 1 or 2 filter systems    good luck

Thanks for the information. After a 20 minute run down the freeway, I went to check the fluid level and it sits at the bottom of the "run hot" segment of the dipstick and the "cold" segment. Are the capacities listed in a DD manual other than the maintenance manual? This is good information. Mark
