Title: Exhaust tubing for heater
Post by: Airbag on February 28, 2009, 09:02:30 AM
I finally reached a day off when I can install my freshly rebuilt Hydroflame heater. All I need is a 2 foot piece of 1-5/8" O.D. exhaust pipe that I thought I could procure locally. "WRONG" So now I am on hold once again. After an exhaustive search calling every muffler shop in Tucson I finally resorted to my field of expertise AIRPLANES and I have ordered a piece of 4130 .049 wall steel seamless tubing. Why would Atwood design a heater that uses Spaceshuttle tubing for exhaust pipe? So if anyone else ever has to go through this firedrill just call Aircraft Spruce and Specialty they have it. I even checked tubing suppliers and no soap.

Most muffler shops can expand the end of a tube to fit.
