Ace- just curious how a muffler can cost $686.00? Around $200.00 is the norm. Not trying to make you feel bad, but is that a Prevost stamped muffler? Good Luck, TomC
tomc that is the price Prevost charges I ran over a tire cap and tore mine off and Prevost tagged me with $1323.67 for a muffler ,pipe and labor i made them use the tip or that was going to be another $300.00.fwiw the parts guy had one delivered from a Dallas muffler shop and it looked like a standard muffler to me with 5" opening in the top with 5" opening in back and about a 15" oval. They probably did pay $200.00 for it but they are not going to sell you one for $200.00

My plan if I ever need a muffler is to check with Cummins Filtration. They have hundreds of different mufflers in all different sizes and configurations.
Well guys, one thing went right and one thing went wrong today!
The wrong thing first...
They sent me the wrong muffler. It appears they took it for granted that I had a series 60 engine when they even asked me what was in it.
The right thing that happened was they have the right muffler in Jacksonville and it will be over night delivered to me and be here Saturday morning. Oh and the second right thing that happened is the RIGHT muffler is $200.00 cheaper!
Hey something finally went MY way for a change!

Cool, sometimes things happen for a reason saving 200 bucks is great, does that mean the price of kettle corn is dropping a little lol?
Ace, I am still wondering about the circuit breakers You had at Arcadia, I need four. Drop Me an email or respond here if You have time. A phone number and I will call on the land line! john
Cody, NO! LOL I have to pop corn this coming Friday night at an outdoor movie on the local Lake and then next Saturday. Saturday's show which is Lake Wales Mardi Gras is held in Lake Wales Fl.. I hope it is as good as years past because then I know I will have enough to get my bus out of hock! :)
John I have sent you PM's and email's so now I am responding here.
What do you want to know about them?
My "flea stuff" is in the bus which is in the shop and I will be going there tomorrow and I can check to see how many I have left!

Well guys, new correct muffler came on Saturday and we were all set to get er done today but my mechanic came in sick and was sent home. No work today other than I got talked into installing new carpet in a 35 foot motor home that was recently sold! Got a late start and got it all done except the BR. Will get that later in the week!
Anyway, Prevost "TRIED" to make me pay shipping (79.00 overnight) on the wrong muffler that THEY said was the right one! They also tried to bill me for a restocking charge of the wrong muffler. Well, you knew I wasn't going to stand for that and after it was all said and done, I paid nothing except for the correct parts of course!
Now if everything goes as it should, I "MIGHT" get my bus back in a day or two!
I might add that while my bus is there, I have met some really nice bus nuts! Four have come in since mine has been there. One camper in a GMC 4108, One Prevost is in for all new paint which the owner hasn't arrived yet but the bus has and is all stripped and sanded, One is there because he traded his Eagle in on a really nice Prevost that was for sale and one is in for service (new King Pins and Bushings in a GMC 4905) !
Seems the time of year for... well, bussin I guess! ;)

Ace,
Glad to hear your coach is almost ready to come home. I think the Prevost that is there for paint belongs to Syl & Beverly Bowman. Unfortunately, they had to rush home to GA when their daughter died tragically. Jack
Jack I do believe you are correct. That Prevost belongs to Syl. It will sure look awesome when it's done if it turns out as they say it will!
As for my continuing saga? My bus still sits over the pit. I Think everything is done. I wasn't there during working hours today but I WAS there afterwards delivering the rv motor cover that I carpeted. They tell me it was running today and maybe that's a sign that they were checking the Jakes out. The new exhaust system looks good!
One thing about the exhaust is it seems Prevost didn't send the mounting bolts and nuts and spring clips that hold the nuts to the back side of the mounting brackets like they did on the series 60 muffler so I made a friendly call to the central parts team and for the first time, I got a complete run a round. Getting nowhere, I called my direct contact to the big cheese in Canada. After hearing the story about this muffler and exhaust that started over a week ago, he immediately asked me if I would be available at 2pm for a conference call with yet another bigger cheese. I said sure, call anytime! Well at about 2:30 the phone rang and I had two higher up's on the phone askinh me questions for about 25v minutes. They then asked me if it would be ok to call the bus garage where my bus is being worked on. I agreed and they told me to call John to for-warn him and I did. The last thing they told me was, which sounded pretty impressive to me, "they wanted to get MY coach out of the shop asap at whatever cost and they didn't want to see ANY Prevost in ANY shop for ANY length of time. The delay that THEY (the parts team) caused was an embarrassment to their good name"! Now I told them that they were making a big deal over 8 nuts, 8 bolts and 8 clips and didn't want to make waves but they insisted that it wasn't the part/s, it was principle and it does cost them money when they send or attempt to send out wrong parts.
Now what can you say bad about a company that goes that far to make things right over something so small? Not too much!
