I was thinking about getting a couple of steel rims for the scenic. It is my understanding there are two types."Center on the hub" and "center on the lug" and that the difference is that the lug holes are beveled on the later. Please verify.
Phil you are right the stud centered rims have tapered lug holes and the taper on the nut centers the wheel and hub centered are centered by a close fit between the hub and the wheel and they do not interchange Mike
Also pay attention to the bolt hole circle diameter as there are different sizes in each type.

I have some 22.5 by 8.25 hub piloted steel wheels if that is what you need. free.

My 4501 has the stud piloted wheels.
Does anyone know when the hub piloted wheels come out?

The Hub piloted lug nuts have washers fastened to them.
The wheels centered with the wheel nuts are "Budd wheels" and the wheels centered with the hub,is called "hub pilot wheels"
At least that is what I have always been taught in the wheel industry.
Just 2 more cents

I had some steel wheels left and the local tire shop bought them. I got 25.00 each for the buds and 30.00 for the hub pilioted. Hope this may help. Tom Y
