Have another question, the post that I put the other day (fuel in the oil gods are following me) we have discovered some lines
that need to be replaced. Noticeably the one from the fuel filter to the fuel pump. Do they still have these or do you need to
have them made from the originals

Steve just having gone thru this I can tell you that DD won't have them already made up but they can have them made for you. I found it to be cheaper if you find your own source as I did! Locally I used a company called Tubes and Hoses on Edgewood Dr. in Lakeland Fl..
Elliott did a very good job using Stainless braided lines and the exact fittings of what I had. A total of 4 lines ran me $184.00.

A lot of Hydraulic Supply or Hose and Fittings places will have the items and machine to make these Stainless Steel Braided lines for you a whole lot cheaper than buying them from DD. If you can identify the sizes you have, you can usually call ahead and have them made before you get there if paying by phone with a credit card. If not sure of the sizes, then take the hoses in to be identified and measured since the hoses are custom made and you'll have to pay for them even if you give them the wrong sizes. It usually just takes a few minutes to make each hose. I could give you the name of several places to have them made if you were in the Charlotte NC area.
You may want to specify that the hose be BioD compatible.

Do what you think best but I don't think there is any reason to go with stainless braid except appearance. I have seen buses done with DOT air brake line that held up well.
I wouldn't exactly call it appearance! I got the SS braided lines for strength. Heck I have loom over my SS lines so you don't even see it. The loom protects the SS from getting frayed especially where it has to run. Like a snake in a bush!

Yes, use an armored hose of whatever type you would like to pay for.
The hoses with the steel braid under the cloth cover is used extensively in Big Transit. Air, fuel, hydraulic, even the AC, seen it all done in the blue cloth.
Also nice about getting them made up, if you need an extra inch or two to route the hose more to your taste, you can get that done at the same time.

The stainless braided hoses are harder to inspect down the road and as for strength the medium pressure non armored hose has steel braid in it and is alot cheaper. Old saying in Aviation " If it's plyable it's flyable".
