A buddy of mine sent me these he took this last summer on a jeep trip to Alaska somewhere outside Steward, AK. He knew I was into busses and thought I would get a kick out of what ever this was.

Wow! A '38 '36 Delorean!
Edit: Had to squint real close at the screen ;)
Dreamscape, as an old car buff and a hot rodder when I first saw a picture years ago of the stainless 38 ford I couldn't believe it. After some research I found that there was I believe four of the fords made from stainless for a American steel company as a advertisement gimmick and as a perk for top salesman that got to drive them for a period of time. Thanks for the picture. John
Unless I'm blind in one eye and can't see out of the other, I think the placard says 1936. ;)
Sure is purdy!
Okay eagle eye I stand corrected. John
These are popping up everywhere only most say "Will damage Engine". ???
I think that is low sulphur as opposed to the new ULTRA low Sulphur. Newer engines must use ULTRA low sulphur (per manufacturers & EPA). Glad I still got an old engine. Jack

Jeremy, What the hell is that???
The first thought in my mind was that I would not want to be the driver responsible for all those passengers. That thing belongs on rails.

Actually it had two drivers who drove simultaneously, although one of them couldn't handle it and kept passing out from fright.
It's Cyclops, the world's first and only nuclear-powered bus!

Jack,
It says it will damage older engines.
All the stations around here have similar warnings.
The labels in the pictures state that it is prohibited in 2007 and later models (meaning newer models) and that it will damage those. That is because they are specifically built for the ultra low sulpher diesel to meet the new emissions standards. Too much LSD (low sulpher diesel) will plug up their sinuses. ;)

Len, this is a model toy. You can tell by the people walking, they seem a little stiff... to say the least

Using low sulfur Diesel (500ppm) in the newer engines will not ruin the engine-it will just plug up the particulate trap alot faster and possibly contaminate the catalytic converter. If you have an engine without the Diesel Particulate Filter, ANY Diesel fuel will work. Good Luck, TomC

I assume it is a full size prop rather than a model; there's another pic of it in this clip:

There is one other scene ('you eat one foot and they call you a cannibal') from the film on Youtube. If anyone can find any others anywhere I would like to see them!
This movie was the first ever film I saw at the cinema - I would have been five or six years old at the time, and I guess it had a big impression on me at the time as I haven't seen it since but still remember a lot of the details. Who knows, maybe it was responsible for me being a 'bus nut' now!

Hi John,
This little bus is at Bruce Knee's in Delaware. Ross and Bruce made it a couple years ago. It has a 17hp mower motor in it...
Nick-
:P
:o
And the one in Hershey :o
The lable reminded me when I bought our 2007 Siverado Classic which has the 2006 body and 2007 drivetrain that at the time we bought it you COULD NOT find ULSD....I noted that the dealer filled it it up with LSD...not ULSD.
I ran it for months before the ULSD became available.

A tragic bus picture on the anniversary of Dr. King's assassination. No less troubling to me because it was a 4104.
Wow, that's terrible to see a 4104 burning. Gotta kick out of the S&H Green Stamp sign though! Man I licked a lot of them suckers~
~Paul~
Paul...that is eactly what I thought when I saw the S&H sing too!
Jack
Jack, we also had Gold Bond Stamps! Do you remember those?
~Paul~
Oh yeah, I used to fuel at Petro which gave the Gold Bond...I got a lot of 'stuff' that way!
Oh the memories!

This is cool. I've been looking for an old shorty like this to build a custom toad to pull behind the bus. This would be awesome as a toad.
