Title: Where is the temp sender on a 6V92T in an MCI 102
Post by: bigtim44 on June 26, 2006, 06:59:53 AM
The temp guage has been a bit finnicky. It's either working or dead but mostly dead,I presume it's a wiring fault at the engine, but which sender goes to the temp gauge. This is on our 86' 103A3 with a 6v92t.

Will be on the thermostat housing.  Just have to test to see which one it is since it probably has a light sender, possibly a engine shut down sender also.  Easy to do, just ground out the sensers one at a time with someone watching the gauge until you find the sensor that make s the gauge react.  Good Luck, TomC

It'll be one of the two right next to each other on the right thermostat housing (I think they're all on the right, but if not it's 1 of the 2 next to each other!) Also if it's wiring it may not show on the gauge but if you short the sending units out with the bus aired up and running the other 1 will shut the engine off when shorted! (If the shut down unit is wired correctly, which it's not a bad idea to periodaclly check both shut down units to be sure they are working! the single one on the other thermostat housing is the other 1 !) Let us know what happens! BK! ;D
