While there is a lot left for me to do yet to complete the expanded features the new site has to offer, it is online now. Keep in mind it is still a work in progress. There are areas not yet complete (i.e. the free membership content area) and if you encounter an error or bug, don't get mad, please just email me at webmaster@busconversions.com or use the Contact menu button to let us know about it. Here are a few points everyone should come see:
The Classifiedshttp://www.busconversions.com/bcmclassifieds/index.php
This is one of the big leaps. It has a great new classifieds system and some great new rates. Better yet, we are running a Re-Grand opening special. If you post your classified ad between now and December 31,
the first 30 days are free, including some of the enhancement upgrade options (excepted featured status). And there is also a category for all items under $150 where basic 30 day listings (up to 2 photos included) are free. Likewise, there is a category for Free Stuff where basic 30 day listings are free.
Here are just some of the great features the new classifieds bring:
- Highly functional text description entry/display. This text area is capable of enhanced formating just like here in the forum posts (bold, italic, underline, font face, font size, font color, bulleted lists, etc.) (Note: The text features are mainly for the online classifieds and not all of the formatting will carry forward into the magazine.
- 2 photos included in basic listings (even the free ones) and additional photos can be placed for an additional charge (virtually unlimited number of them)
- You can include a YouTube video of it even. So if you're selling a bus, go beyond pictures, do a promotional video. Post it on YouTube and then set up your ad here.
- Google Map capability - Just enter the address where the item is located and it will put a Google Map in the ad.
- There are listing enhancement upgrades for drawing more attention: Bold, Highlighted, Category Featured, Gallery Featured and Main page featured.
- There is upgrade option to let you attach certain types of files to further demonstrate your item. (primarily sound and video formats)
- Another listing upgrade lets you put a PayPal Buy It Now button on the ad so that the buyer can simply click that and pay you for it via PayPal.
The rates are very good. http://www.busconversions.com/classifieds_rates.html
And any listing of 60 days or longer is included in the magazine classifieds beginning with the second month of the listing.
So come check it out and take advantage of the free 30 days while they last.
BCM E-storehttp://www.busconversions.com/store/index.php
It is just getting started, but already, you can buy the download version of the current edition and order a 6 pack of BCM printed back issues. Also already there are the bus id posters and the "Why Settle for Bus Like ..." license plates.
Soon, there will be other items including download versions of back issues, and other busnut merchandise and printed materials.
And of course it has an SSL secured online payment system powered by Authorize.net.
I will be posting more on other features, including the new subscription system soon! But for now, come check out the classifieds section and store.

I don't know about the voice feature, but since we have coffee cups in the chat room, we ought to be able to come up with a coffee pot. ;D
Hi Mike,
Great Job! LOoks Awsome!
Nick-
Good job Mike!!!
God bless,
John
High tech, you better stop! This site is getting far too sophisticated and easy to use, you are spoiling us.
Keep up the good work, I certinately appreciate the time and effort you put into this.
Thank you Jim
Mike, I really like the look. I wonder if you could change it, so that when you open the board off of the main site, it wouldn't open in a new window. If nothing else, it could open in a new tab. I think, that on most sites that I have seen, that it would work well just to have it open in the same window, not pull up another explorer.
Just a thought.
God bless,
John
HT Mike,
Looks good......went to check the classifieds.....did all the old ones expire?

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback.
John, it was an intentional decision to keep the main site window open. The new site will be growing and adding new content regularly and we hope to encourage more folks to routinely take a look around. However, in Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3 you can set your browser so that new "windows" open in tabs rather than new browser windows. In Opera 9, tab browsing is on by default.
Internet Explorer 7:Go to the Tools menu > Internet Options
In the Tabs section click the Settings button.
The "Enable Tabbed Browsing" box should be checked.
Under "When a pop-up is encountered" select either:
"Let Internet Explorer decide how pop-ups should open" or:
"Always open pop-ups in a new tab"
Under "Open links from other programs in" select:
"A new tab in the current window"
Then OK your way out of the dialogs and then restart Internet Explorer.
Firefox 3Go to the Tools menu > Options > Tabs
Under "New pages should be opened in" select:
"a new tab"
Then OK it.

Skip, that is one of the things next on my list. I will be entering current, non expired listings into the new system.
With all the dropped links between the different pages and updating everything
I certainly don't envy you.
Good Luck....and may others be patient with you.

HighTechRedneck, that was a beautiful site, and I loved the way the pictures come up and blank out so fast. You did a great job, and it looks first class all the way.
