Title: Webasto running on waste motor oil
Post by: JohnEd on December 12, 2008, 11:53:09 PM
Has anybody done this?  There are commercial units that are efficient and run an entire season between cleanings.  The people that convert HHO furnaces seem a relentless group but keeping it clean seems a real challenge.  How involved is to clean out a Webasto boiler?

I have even read about and seen pics of a commercial AC unit for large buildings that runs off of WMO.  Absorption like our refers.

WVO won't work but WMO might. The key to that would be to centrifuge it very well.

JohnEd, I have thought about this myself.   In my shop I collect 300 gallons of good waste oil a year that I burn in the shops waste oil burner for shop heat.  I have a sump pump that runs thru two spin on oil filters.  I purchased HUPP 35,000 BTU multifuel heater that I wanted to run this oil thru it.   Might be recommended to thin it out with diesel.

0,

Can you give me more info on the "HUPP furnace"?  35,000BTU sounds like a RV size.

Thanks,

John
