Title: New Eagle Model 15
Post by: coachconverter on December 12, 2008, 04:59:41 PM
Craig sent me some pictures of their new Model 15 that they are building for a customer overseas, I think he said it's 35 feet long...

Pretty cool! I need that front bumper! I'll take some of that siding too while I'm at it!

I wonder where 'overseas' is - it would be interesting to know if it was coming to Europe. Retro-style cars are very popular at the moment and there could well be a market for retro-style motorhomes / bus conversions as well. Tiny retro 'teardrop' type travel trailers are very trendy at the moment, and I know one guy who built a large motorhome with a one-off '1930s' style body (brass radiator, cycle wings, running boards etc). In fact one of my friends used to work for a company that built promotional vintage-style vans for companies, based on Ford Transit running gear.

The Japanese are also crazy for that kind of stuff, if Craig can build the Eagle with right hand drive

I am liking that new front end look .....I have not been by the plant in a couple of months but I need to go by and check that out!! Last time I saw it they were skinning and installing all the running gear ....I love the glue in windows and the slope on the drivers and entrance door ...headlights are too cool !! ....Craig where is our retrokit for the new generation headlights ??? The Eagle owners are hungry !!

I think classic styleing will always have a certain level of appeal, for me, eagle buses, pendelton shirts, red wing boots. levi pants, a good single malt, we all live, the only difference is how well, I think busnuts make it known that we listen to an inner voice of a different kind to begin with, why would we care if fleetwood approves or not, I have nothing but praise for what craig and his crew are doing, it takes sheer guts and more than a little intestinal fortitude to attempt what they are doing in this economic climate and I wish them every success.

Sorry for the dark pictures, if I can get Photoshop spun up on my old PC today I'll try to pull some more detail from the shadows here.

I agree, you can't beat this original look.  A few modest updates are fine, but keep the same lines.  I like how the driver window and door window slope up to the window bottoms.

He also said that within those frameless windows are pop-open sections that they had attached after water-jetting smaller panes within the larger ones.  I can't wait to see the final product.

They have a lot of big news they're planning to announce around the end of this month, I'm excited for them.

I'm just excited we can speak about Eagle and be civil about it! ;)

I also like the original look and lines that were maintained for so many generations of Eagle, but it doesn't hurt to venture out artistically and push the envelope sometimes.

Happy Trails,

Paul
