Has any one changed the Plug Door on a Dina to a hinged door and if How?? Also the door seems kind of thin has anyone increased thickness for insulation? Thanks still learning Rod
Yes, I changed my Dina door to a regular motorhome door. The Dina door is very tall and flimsy. It is hard to keep in adjustment. If you ever see a MCI F3500 you'll notice the door is not as tall as a Dina.
I had a fabricator remove the original door and weld in a tubular steel frame the right size for the motorhome door. The frame was covered with sheet aluminum around the new door.
My door never worked right and was way out of adjustment from day one. Even if I had gotten it working right it isn't very practical since it requires 24 volt and an air supply to operate.
Looked at three Dinas today and was trying to figure how to change the door. Anyone interested in Dinas I will pass the info off the board. Rod
I'm curious where you saw three Dinas considering only about 1,000 were built?
belfert, go to Texas every Mexican tour operator there runs those thing down to Mexico,RWC where in Temple do you live I will be in Belton for the Christmas holidays may we could have a cup of coffee and meet each other if you are interested good luck
luvrbus I actually live in Rogers (speed trap just south east of Temple). Would love to meet and talk. I will be out of town 12/23-12/27. If you are here before or after call me at two five four six four two zero one four five. I will be available 12/23 until about 3 in the afternoon.
Belfert the Dinas are in Waco Texas and have been operated by a charter company there. They appear to have been well maintained and are very clean. These are definitly not some that were operated by those Mexican companies. The ones that come through here from Mexico appear to have been in demolition derby. Rod
