Guys; i filled this morning in Phoenix for $1.99.9 a gal the bus Gods are smiling on us
have a great day and may the fuel prices continue to fall makes your day to go from $800.00 to less than $300.00
Still high up here, it's at 2.45 now for diesel and gas is slowly creeping up, thats at 1.75 now, but at least it's looking hopefull.
Anybody heard any reasons why diesel continues to be so expensive here in Minnesota? I just paid $2.89 last night, while across town near Craig Shephard's house the price is $2.58. Both prices are still higher than other states. I doubt heating oil is a big factor as the percentage of homes with fuel oil is single digits.
We do have 2% biodiesel blending, but that has been in effect since well before diesel prices have been so high compared to other states and compared to gasoline.
Quiet changes to taxes at the municipal/state/federal level?
The permanent/temporary price hike due to ultra low sulphur fuel?
(remember the promises about unleaded only being higher initially? Fibbers...)
Local stations setting a higher or lower price?
Timing according to the election being over, and perhaps the results?
Supply and demand? (Less driving)
Less futures gambling in the markets?
Who knows?
Fuel prices are like the weather, can't change 'em, but we sure can talk about it!
happy coaching!

Fuel was $2.65.9 in St. Petersburg Friday.

Still 2.57 here in Colorado, hasn't changed in at least a week. Probably should fill the bus before it starts back up.

Please don't even hint at that. We're headin out to Bussin '09 soon and i don't want higher prices until at least March. oh, uh 2030 that is. ;D
$2.35 at the Flying J here in Abilene TX. ;D
Some curious news on this front:
Remember that I am the guy that predicted the price would spike back up after the election. Insted, OPEC got together just before the election and agreed to CUT PRODUCTION to reverse the price slide. Saudi Arabia cut it production by less than half what the group had agreed upon. There was not a howl of complaint from their fellow members and all kept producing. With a political finger in the wind just imagine the following scenario...fuel stayed at $4 per and that would have put our economy over the edge in a hurry. The Saudis would be blamed. We are going over the edge, I am sorry to predict, and BANKS and deregulation are being blamed, and rightly so. The oil guys are off the hook and all is forgotten and forgiven. Great PR for those guys.
If we go in the tank and we can't even afford the gas to get to the free food pantry, there is going to be hell to pay in SandVille. You will hear a hue and cry across the land "how dare they pile their sand on top of OUR OIL". And off we go to lower oil prices.
Two oil producers told OPEC to "shove it where the sun don't shine". Venezuela and Russia kept right on producing at the old level. Carefull where you look that up cause there is a lot of propaganda out there: Like the one that Hugo is a Socialist Dictator. His last move was to try to get congress to relieve him of his limit to three terms and when that failed he tried to get them to declare him El Presidente for "life". The congress rejected that also. Seems there isn't a single newspaper in that entire country that supports him and doesn't support EXXON in their quest to recapture their lost oil rev. Some phony DICTATOR he is if he doesn't control the press, radio and TV and is going to be forced to retire by the Vs constitution. DICTATOR! ??? Really? Me thinks....... ???
John...ever the kidder ;)
Here's an interesting site regarding tracking fuel and gas prices; www.eia.doe.gov It provides access to current and historical prices. ...If I wasn't so computer illiterate I could post this as a link...

For those heading to Bussin' 09, Diesel was $2.35 yesterday at Walmart (Murphy) in Arcadia. Jack
I don't get it. When crude prices come down it takes a couple months for the change to take effect because it was "futures" that were effecting the market, but when crude prices go up it's real time. Wouldn't you expect February price hikes to take effect in February if price downturns take that long to take effect?
Belfert was correct by the way about Minnesota fuel prices it is $2.89 here in St. Paul and 13 miles away in Brooklyn Park it is $2.29.
I don't care how you wrap it or how you spin it or how you politicize it. The wrong way to do something is still gonna be the wrong way tomorrow.
Just seems like when given the choice between doing the right thing and doing the wrong thing we humans, alot of the time, make the wrong choice.
In case anybody's wondering, I'm pretty sure this ain't heaven....
$1.83 in Casa Grande AZ at Flying J, I can almost afford to drive now good luck
Fuel here in Tyler is around $2.37 a gallon. Some in my bus is $4.15. I don't care. I have an expensive hobby and I work to get money to pay for it. It is a lot less expensive than when i Drag raced or Dirt car raced. I love my bus and i'm not going to let any rag head take that away from this Redneck.
I'm going on vacation and to Teralingua and they can bite it.
Some venting on my part, but I enjoy you people greatly and hope to meet more of you asap.

In Quebec, Canada, we pay 0.999$/ liter for diesel and regular 0.799$/ liter...It's not to bad when I think that, in august, the price for diesel was 1.599$/ liter. Actually, my bus is under snow and ice...until april 2009.
Wells NV $2.25.9 diesel and $1.57.9 At the Loves. The flying J will be a penny less. I can't see there sign from house any more. Two weeks ago Gas was at $1.27.9. Loves is new and they seem to be at war with Flying J. Good for me as I drive over one hundred miles round trip to work. I wonder how good these low fuel prices are for the economy. I guess as long as we can afford it might as well enjoy it. While I was posting gas went down to $1.52.9. That is how fast it changes here lately.
John
YEAH!! What Big John said!!
