Good Evening Ladies and Gents,
My Xantrex Freedom 458 Inverter/Charger has operated flawlessly for four (4) years, until today. It does not transfer from shore power / genset power to inverted power. Or as I type this, maybe the inverter portion has failed ?
It charges and maintains battery voltage, which is 13.8 V -- 14.1 V.
All 12 V dc loads are powered without problem. Just the invertered 120 Vac is NG.
Your thoughts. I read recently to pull the transfer relay and check, but I pulled the case enclosure and no relay easily found. Working within the bay and up against the clock, but you all have been there.
I will call service tech in the AM, but would like those whom have been there before.
Thanks to all, and Hope all is well.
Gary
We had that happen once to our Heart Interface inverter. Turned out to be a bad circuit board. You good see a burned FET on the board. Jack
Jack,
Thanks for the assist, however it is more grave than I would like, but more to what I suspected...
I needed to turn it on. Do not use the bus enough and when I do it is always automatic to punch the invert button. Called tech services & turned it on and it works.
I even saw a bus advertisement with a picture of same inverter remote panel with a label "Depress Invert to turn on"
Maybe I should do the same.
Embarrassed, but forthright,
Gary
Leaving for Brunswick County, NC friday. Spending a week just kicking around checking out the area for possible life after New Jersey.
Gary, you don't need to explain yourself, we've all been there and will be again, LOL. Just thankful it was such a simple fix, Will
Yep, Gary I've done things like that in my life and it seems the older you get the more often they happen! It's called being human.
Thanks for the support guys, If I can not remember I just keep it light & funny...
Here is the photo that prompted me on the "Power" label...
Lifted from Guy Carrier's ad, No Interest from me.
Take care and hope all is well with everyone.
Hi Gary,
If you still have any trouble before you leave, give me a call. I'm only 10 mins from your bus.
If not, have a great trip!
Nick-
Thanks Nick & All,
Nick, I know you are just a call away, I also know how busy you get with your business and its time to make hay while sun is shinning..
We will leave Fri or Sat for the southern tip of NC Shallote & Calabas coastal areas. Will be in North Myrtle Beach as well. Trip will be a week. Just taking it all in as to what this area has to offer.
Any one in the areas let me know, and have a wine & beer intro.
I should be good to go, Taking the bus to Tuckerton Thursday. Making labels thurs also...
Have a great T Day as we all have sooo much to be thankful of despite the news & such. At least I know I do. Simple things health, family, friends, kids who stop by more than I did.
Gary
