The SOUTHEAST BUS NUTS web site is back up . . .
Hi Kyle,
Still no details on the web site. Do you know when they will post them. We plan on coming and wanted to get signed up.
Tom Hamrick
Kyle;
Does this mean that there will be a real live Scenicruiser there too!I know that sooner ,or later its gotta happen! You could take everybody a ride on a real Bus,just think!
Bill
I believe it's $25 for 3 breakfasts & Saturday evening meal.
Plus what ever the camping rate is (I think its $22 per night).
I don't know anything else for now.
My cruisers are still waiting their turn. . . The Airstream is a nice way to fetter out what features I need to include in the mean time. ;D
I thought Mike Heron wasn't the president any longer and Dwayne Britt was!
Correct me if I'm wrong and by the way, what is the URL of the web site?

Ace, you are correct. At the October meeting in Hoboken, GA, Dwayne Britt was voted in as president. Dwayne ran the informal metting that was held at Bussin' 09 and as vice president, I ran the informal meeting that was held at the Florida Flywheelers rally last weekend. Anne Cilio is secretary-treasurer. Jack
The URL for the Southeast Bus Nuts is http://www.southeastbusnuts.org/index.htm
Note that the web site host is dependent on receiving information from the rally host, but more details will likely be posted soon because a newsletter is due out this month, which will contain info on the rally and how to register. The web site will no doubt mirror that information.
Linda
The Southeast Bus Nuts web site now has all current information: http://www.southeastbusnuts.org/Upcoming_Rallies.htm
Less than 2 weeks! ;D
looking forward to seeing everyone. 8)

Kyle and Friends,
We feel more than chagrined to inform you that, once again, we will not be able to attend this exciting non-rally. We're pinned here in FL because the Squire and his bride will be in TN until the last week of April.
With any luck, and the help of the Geriatric Mechanic, we'll be back here in FL by the end of the month.
Gawd! Don't you really think we'd like to come and bring some of our famous Franklin Pork Sausage to accompany your morning pancakes and enjoy all the camaraderie of the past?
We wish the best to all and hope for a great get together. Our hearts will be with you.
Jackie & NCbob
We are looking forward to being there on time. and seeing everyone but I not thing this is the nonrally. this is the southeast busnuts so we are going to do boyh thanks kyle Jerry Campbell
This is the SouthEast Busnuts Rally, there will be a gathering July 4th weekend & the NonRally will be in October (I think the second weekend).
This is gonna be a good-un! With Leroy & Lila there, who could ask for more? ;D
Karen and I plan on getting there Thursday morning. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
Tom & Karen Hamrick
Major bummer here in North Carolina. :-\ T and I won't be at the Palmetto April Rally. REALLY hate it. Terri says that with my political crap my not being there may bring relief to some....? ;) I don't believe that. I believe that...menopause...is....not good. ??? ;D
Primary cause that we won't be there....Terri will be working and cannot leave until late Friday. That's a problem. Last year 'work' was optional at Queens University. Looks like they are going to make some rules this year.
Ain't gonna make the July 4th because we'll be in Morganton at the Red White and Blue Festival.
BUT WE WILL BE AT THE OCTOBER rally... hope to see everyone then.
We'll also be at the Wade KOA rally. T's off during the summer months making our events easier to manage.
If anyone's up near Mount Airy, we'll be at the June first weekend bluegrass festival (without power because of a busted inverter, in a genrator UNfriendly environment). More bummer.
If the weather's nice T and I may drive the car over on Sat to see ya'll. I'm all bummed that Queens University is now managing our travel plans. Whatever....since I'm in retardment, T's gotta work.
Hope to visit Palmetto Cove on Sat. without the bus. See ya'll then.
JR
Hello Everyone,
The following information will be also posted on two other busnut bulletin boards in case everyone does not frequent them all daily.
It is just a matter of a few days and the (April 16, 17, 18 & 19, 2009) bus rally for the (Southeast Busnuts) will be held at Palmetto Cove, Cleveland, SC. This is probably the first rally for this year on this side of the coast that I am aware of anyhow. Those busnuts attending this rally I assure you will love the scenic view going to and at the campground. This rally will probably be the first rally some new busnuts will be attending and we welcome you all to enjoy yourself as you have imagined. There is not a planned menu with the exception to visit with as many of new and old friends as possible and soak in all the information possible to newbies and anyone wishing more ideas for their conversions.
When you come to the rally, Leroy & Lila Ashe will be the host and I would like to take the time to express my appreciation for them to arrange this fun time meeting of people all with the same interest. Leroy and Lila are quite nervous trying to make plans and be sure everyone will have a memorable and wonderful time. If everyone that arrives will please offer to help out with anything possible to assist Leroy & Lila to make this stress on Leroy and Lila less taxing on them this will make it possible for them to also enjoy themselves. This is their first rally to host and those that have hosted rallies in the past know what I am talking about. Leroy & Lila are not as young in physical body as most of us are but sure are in mind and can sure use the extra support from us all that is possible.
We plan to have music there and invite anyone to bring their instrument they have to also group up and play as well. I look forward to playing with Glen again, we sure will miss the entertainment of JR & Terri and their band friends this year. One of the new busnuts to just purchase a bus also plans to bring his set up for gospel music he sings the last time I talked to him. If you have any favorite Karaoke music you enjoy singing at home please bring your Cd's to the rally as I do not have access to the Cd's I had last time. Also, please feel at ease when singing at the rally, this is not American Idol and Simon will not be here. We will all enjoy any level of entertainment you can provide, telling of stories, Jokes, bussing experiences etc.
Oh yea, we want to look at all your buses also!!
I plan to take many photos, (as usual) and make a video for you and your families to enjoy and any cooperation you can offer me will also be appreciated. I want to get at least one great group photo but this is a hard one to do but we'll work on it to make it take less time than you think. This video will be posted on the internet.
We look forward to seeing Lila & Leroy, Kyle and his family & parents , Tommy and his wife, Eric and his family, Manny & Darlene who may be traveling the furthest to be with us all in that beautiful Eagle of theirs, Uncle Ned and Wilma, Steve & Debbie from Kentucky, Glen and his wife (& Guitar), & all members of the (Southeast Busnuts) possible that can attend.
Please, before you leave do a thorough mechanical inspection of your coach or what ever vehicle of pleasure you will attend with for the rally, drive safe, leave your problems at home. We will all look forward to seeing you there.
God's speed to you all,
Gary

Don't bet on quiet!...JR may show up for a few hours on Friday...I'll stir it up and then leave! ;)
T's working...not me. 'Retardment' is cool!
I have fond memories of Palmetto Cove--Charles BBQ, Dave's sausages, Kyles mom's s'getti, and Jack's speedies.... As I think about it, this was sorta the same MO at Gene's and Darrells Wade gathering....FEED ME!! ;D
See y'all, JR
I should be dropping by on Sat too. Can't stay the whole time. Hate it. Looking forward to full retardment ;D instead working retardment ;)
Wish I could be there, going to be a great group of people !!!! Got the old eagle dash tore out right now doing it my way. Had to do some tubing work under the front also. ( I will be the first to admit they will rust.) Dad use to say beat on the side if you hear metal falling you are okay if not you got problems. ;D
Any way treat your host good could't ask for better people than Leroy and Lila
Will be there in the fall for Kyle's event and hopefully in wade for gene's
Take care and all have a great time
Ed
Well Gary, we are just about packed and ready to go. We are leaving tomorrow and should be in sometime Thursday. We can hardly wait! WE have not left the State of FL since June 2001. Can't wait to see all the real Busnuts!
I really wish we could be there but have other obligations. As most of you know I participate in pro level bbq competitions. We have to go to on the road this weekend. Maybe I will win my way into the Jack Daniels world contest. Do not have too much fun, maybe we can make the 4th of july one.
Charles
Charles,
I can't imagine bbq that is better than yours! ;D
If there is, it would be Heaven on earth! 8)
Good luck on your road trip!

Manny,
This is a great drive once you get past Atlanta. We jumped off I-75 and shot up through Macon Northeast.
Hope you have a great time, but remember, at least one of you has to keep an eye on the road and not on that beautiful scenery. ;D
Usually I am a "wee bit" jealous if a rally is going on and I can't go, but I am typing this from my lawn chair on Big Pine Key. :P
Have fun and safe travels.
Cliff
now no cliff gary you and i are going to have to work hard to corrupt the rest with out any good help

Gary's never corrupted anyone in his short life! ;D You got a lot of work to do Ned! :o
Jon, I got you a link with useable OEM grommets and spacers in both ends. Got the whole link from leveling valve out. I'll leave it with Gary or Ned on Friday. I'll be up around noonish.
I'm going to miss Cliff too..and
really mostly Julie. ;) Party girl! ;) Cliff's got this cool welded steel fireplace too...be nice to have this weekend. Alas, pretty good drive from Big Pine Key!
Kyle, do you ever see Charles? I've got something for him that's been riding on the bus dash for over a year. Had it back in October and forget to leave it with anyone that might cross paths...BTW, for sure, Charles has absolutely the best BBQ.
I'd drive a considerable distance to one of his BBQ outings for a big take-out! Charles, if you read this, maybe you could post the cities you'll be visiting?
Well, all 'tarded out now. I did the 'Tea Party' gig today. Lots of standing around...if half of the guys attending these things get out and vote in 2010, "change" will be the order. Only time will tell whether the change is for the better.
Cheerio, JR
The coach is loaded and I am in my way. look out south carolina here we come

Just got home, What an AWESOME TIME!
Met some new friends while there to add to the OLD friends (Sorry Ned, but you really shouldn't have smoked me out like that when you left . . . . ;D )
I can't wait untill Gary gets the pictures posted!
Dexter & his family were great & he did an amazing job painting his bus in his driveway (at least that was the story he stuck to all weekend . . . 8) )
Great weekend great friends one of the best rallys ever
thanks to the ashes two of the best
uncle ned
Just got home it was a great weekend I do not know how you could make it better. Thanks Jerry
Tami and I hopefully will make it next year, you are right those Ashe,s are the best.
Tami and John
We just got home too......
What a great time we had also ...
Met a lot of nice people, made a lot of new friends, and laughed a lot with some friends.
Saw a lot of very cool buses everywhere I turned.......My honey do list just got real long. ;D ;D
I didn't get around to meeting everyone yet but hopefully next time I will.
looking forward to the next Cove trip soon.......
Kentucky Steve .....and Deb
Gary look out for the snakes sticks......lol........ ;D ;D
Well, we're not home yet (most of you who were at the rally know that we were going to stop off at Stone Mt. on our way back home), but we do have internet now :). The Eagle ran great again today all the way to Atlanta, and we just got back from meeting up with some friends who live in this area.
We sure had a great time at the rally. I can't remember when I have laughed so hard (great stories Gary & Kyle)! It was so nice to see old friends again that we have not seen since our first Rally in Arcadia back when we first got our bus...friends like Gary & Linda, John & Lynn, Norman and his wife; and it was so nice meeting new friends that we've known on this board but never met, like Kyle & Nancy, KY Steve & Debbie, John and Tera, Dexter and his family, and several others. Thank you for your warm hospitality and the delicious food, but mostly the great fellowship.
We are thankful the bus ran so well and have finally after 8 years left the state of FL for a vacation. There is no place like home, but it sure is fun to get away for a while and enjoy the company of some great friends. We sure hope we can do this more often.
Hope everyone has a safe journey home. I'll post more when we get home! Manny
Hello Everyone,
I am enclosing two photos as a taster for the videos I will be making for youtube for everyone to view of the (Southeast Busnuts) April 16-19, 2009 Busnuts rally we had this past weekend at Palmetto Cove, Cleveland, SC campground.
I wish to thank Leroy & Lisa Ashe, Doug & Sarah Riddle, Duane & Jackie Britt (Duane is President of Southeast Busnuts this 2009 physical year) for hosting and arranging this wonderful spring rally we all enjoyed more than words can express.
It was a lot of stress for Leroy & Lila but all went well as everyone possible offered support in all the preparations possible and that was greatly appreciated. There are many more to thank for hosting this Party / Rally and we will attempt to do just that at the next posting. Everyone knows who they are that attended.
There was a lot of great fellowship that went on sometimes in the wee hours of the morning each night only to continue the next day. It was so good to get together with everyone so I am enclosing just a taste of what eveyone missed that was unable to attend this years rally.
It will take several days for me to put together my video's about the rally for Youtube and this will be posted as a link you can click on when I post it on the bb's for viewing of the entire rally that I was physically able to record. WHEW!!
I will make a separate post noting the videos in the bb'ds so you can go straight to that post for linking.
Thanks again for a truly great rally, many laughs, (mostly about me) but worth making everyone forget any problems for a short time. I hope everyone made it home safely, Manny & Darlene, and Steve & Debbie traveled the furthest for this rally I believe and we wish them all Gods Speed in getting home.
Glen, Man I had such a great time with you backing me up and doing this licks with your guitar, John, I need you to teach me how to present those gospel songs in my music that you did so well.
Well, I have a lot of work to do, and here is just a taste as I promised of what you missed. View the videos when done and enjoy seeing what we did and will do at each rally.
Gary.
