Title: Putting my Eagle to good use
Post by: BusCrazyinFL on November 02, 2008, 03:46:35 PM
Took my Eagle on the road today in support of John McCain. I love this country too much to just stand by...so I put up the signs and hit the road driving about a hundred miles around my county. People say we need change, but "spreading the wealth" doesn't work. I lived in Communist Cuba as a child and trust me, living under Communist or Socialist rule STINKS. I've lived in this country since 1967, working hard since I was 15. I've been a citizen for almost 20 years. The freedoms we are blessed with in this country are too precious to lose. I would die for this country. Unless you've lived without freedom you can never really understand. I encourage everyone to get out and VOTE on November 4th. I do respect those who have a different opinion than my own, that is what makes this country great, just be sure you make your voice heard.....VOTE AMERICA!

BusCrazyinFL,
Sharp looking Eagle! (even with the political signs on it)

I ain't political, really can't stand politicians, and can't vote even if there was someone worth voting for. Sometimes I feel I'm more blessed by that loss than burdened! FWIW ;D  BK  ;D

Crazy,

Me 2.  That is one great looking Eagle.  Post info on her or tell where I might see more.

OBTW you can support you candidate by volunteering at a candidate phone bank near you.  Walk in sit down start dialing and follow the script.  Less than 1% are hostile or rude.  Many are hurried.  10% take the time to thank you for giving your time and walking the walk.  It is a neat experience and I suggest it to anyone....even thopse that can't vote. ::) ;D ;D ;D

Welcome to the US and thank you for you compliments and commitment.  It is refreshing even from a native born let alone a naturalized citizen.

it's absolutely a nice eagle and you did put it to good use.  Vote Early, Vote often, and make sure you vote right.  i'll not start any political arguments by stating which one i'm voting for or making fun of Biden's lack of votes in the primary compared to Palin's, or Obama's friends compared to McCain's.

Nice signs.  i hope they helped.

Thanks for all the great comments. Yes, my wife and I know about the phone banks, in fact we've been making calls and you're right, it's a great experience. My Eagle is a 1970 Eagle 05, and I just joined Eagles International. I'm waiting to hear back from them. I will get more pics posted soon.

Crazy,

Great use of your bus. I hope it pushes the country over the edge for McCain and Palin (personally I kind of doubt that he will win...but who knows). Good work!!!

God bless,

John

Great Coach and Great Sign!

I am with you for standing for what is better for our America. We and all the soldiers are happy to see someone care for what we stand.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under God, indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for all."

Thank you for your supports.

Nice Eagle, would have made the sign bigger though.
Ya'll crack me up.  The wealth in the US is already being "shared" just selectively and only with the very wealthy: read corporate tax breaks and free or almost free  access to US resources, financial aide packages to large corps., to encourage growth etc...etc.... The myopia is stunning.

Yea I agree! Although I know this bus personally, it is a very nice bus inside and out and if your going to use a vehicle of this size to send a message, any message, make the message as big as the vehicle being used. Not to steal the thread or sway any minds, had I used my bus for similar usage, it would have Obama on the side! :)

ZUBZUB,

They are absolutely beyond reason or being confused by facts, irrefutable evidence and eyewitness testimony.  No hope there.  They still believe there is a welfare Queen somewhere driving a Cadillac and that that "fact" should justify the abolishment of every social welfare system in the country including military pensions and SS.

Yes we have been going through a period, since RR, of unconscionable rape of the fed and public assets.  Banditry!  Plain and simple.  A really good book that covers the subject well is "Free Lunch".  And that is what it is about...free to the elite and megarich.  Evidently you are one of those that will get the most out of the book.  Many will be disgusted with its aspect of propaganda proven by the many references to HB#, SB#, dates and places and people and other verifiable stuff.

It is said that Satan's greatest and most sinister trick was to convince us he didn't exist.  And they aren't stealing us blind and we really needed to get into Iraq are just a pittance of a couple of the lies.

Thanks Zub, I know I am not alone but sometimes it feels that way.  I hope bus crazy understands I am a strong supporter of his being able to take the actions he has and for others to voice their support for him.  I am sure you agree.

John

Thanks again for all the great comments and encouraging words re: this great land we live in. By the way, "hats off" to all the bus nuts out there who have served our great country. My family and I say, "THANK YOU!"

Bigger signs were sought out everywhere, but by the time I got the idea to do this, there were none to be found (except those already being used). Funny, when I got those signs they didn't look that small until I put them up again my bus, lol.

Here are a couple more pics that some of you have asked for:

Yes, I drive my bus. That's the after pic. Below shows a before pic when the engine was painted silver, not sure how that happened on an 8V71. I'm also showing a before and after pic of the electrical panel on the driver's side:

Crazy,

Great looking bus. Thanks for the pics. It looks really clean!!!

I'm sorry that it looks like Americas best choice (meaning McCain) won't make it. I wonder when America stopped thinking... "I think, therefore I vote Republican."

In my opinion, I think that we should keep our own wealth (the best thing for the poor would be to eliminate the lottery), who worked hard for all of the wealth. As a country we absolutely deserve Obama. He would do this nation the most damage, but that is what our country has asked for. If the terrorists were voting, I know who they would vote for. It is good to see that, so far, the popular vote is tied. It is sad, but America stopped thinking when the news started feeding them. The news so affects people...It is all propaganda. I hope those who voted for Obama like it because this could be their last time (I also hope that they have saved a lot of money since costs of living will probably raise.). We will see how corrupt our nation is with congress also being on the left side.

Well I will get off of my soapbox now.

God bless,

John

Well, after a long and hard fought election America has decided, and the freedom to choose is part of what makes this such a great nation. As a child of God, I know that God is ultimately in control and that is the peace that my family and I will carry with us through these next four years.

I am grateful for the friends I've made on this board, and I look forward to many more busnut journeys with you.

GO EAGLE!!!  :)

Dido? Was she on the ticket too?

Lots of people clearly believe that McCain would have been better for America, and they are quite possibly right; I'm a raving capitalist myself and would always vote for our version of the Republican party (ie. the Conservatives). However, from a non-American perspective I have to say that I am delighted that Obama won, simply as I am sure the 'whole world' will be a slightly better place with him in charge of the only remaining superpower. Whilst I am mostly thinking of specific foreign-policy issues here, there is also a much more general 'America having turned a corner' thing about Obama having been elected which undoubtably has immense resonance to the rest of the world. So well done USA.

Jeremy

Just to keep it on-topic - very nice bus, BusCrazy

Buscrazy,

How did you seam the front and rear cap to your painted siding?  I don't see any seams.  It looks like they are feathered smooth and seamless.  I was warned not to do that on my 10 when I put my coach together.  Due to shrinkage, expansion and movement there would be a crack at any feathered seam.  I caulked my joints to isolate the movement, simiilar to concrete isolation joints, and just as I was promised that is where the expansion/contraction is.   Nothing showed until after about 30k miles.

David my Eagle was done professionally back in 1988 by Hercules Coach in KY. This Eagle bus was a Trailways bus, the bottom of the frame  is still painted Trailways red.
